So, I have been going to an Orthodox Church for over a month now and have become fascinated with its theology and tradition. However, whenever I mention that I am part of an Eastern Orthodox Church, the usually response I get is, "What is that?"
I admit, that when I first started I was uncertain what Orthodoxy was myself. Aside from knowing that the church was formed after the Great Schism, I was clueless. To me, it was just the Eastern version of Roman Catholicism. Most people seem to think this as well. After studying a little, I found that I was completely mistaken.
While I am definitely not an expert, I thought it would be fun to have my own personal blog to explore Orthodoxy from an outsider's perspective. If you are expecting an expert explanation of Orthodoxy, then you have landed on the wrong blog. However, if you are willing to learn with me, you have come to the right place. So, with God's mercy and a bit of research, I present my journey through Orthodoxy!
